The company ItsOnlyRocknRoll.com — Booth #2355 — will be previewing items from its Spring Rock and Roll, Music and Entertainment Auction. The Elvis memorabilia includes the elusive 1956 board game, perfume, lipstick, sneakers in original box, overnight bags, purse, and very rare 1957 doll valued at more than $5,000.
“Fifty years ago, Hank Saperstein, the man responsible for putting those little giveaways in cereal boxes, made a deal with the Colonel (Tom Parker) to create the massive merchandising that became Elvis Presley Enterprises,” said ItsOnlyRocknRoll.com president Marc Zakarin. “Like Valentino, Clara Bow, and Mickey Mouse, Elvis had the elements necessary to sell.”
The exhibit will preview items from the live online and catalog auction, which also includes a receipt from the Beatles signed by Paul, John, George, Pete Best and Stuart Sutcliffe (these have sold for more than $30,000); John Lennon’s Ivor Novello award (UK Grammy) for “She’s Leaving Home”; a Bill “Bojangles” Robinson appearance poster; Ike & Tina Turner and 1960’s Rolling Stones concert posters, plus part two of the David Gest poster collection.
NOVA-Antiques.com provides the most comprehensive antiques show and flea market calendar for the Mid Atlantic region.
